KaRa Ananda | My Holistic Journey to Traditional Nutrition
 

As a child, I loved eating vegetables fresh from the garden, and wild berries and fruits from nature. The woods behind my house were my favorite playground and I spent hours exploring and connecting with the wild. As I grew older, I became concerned about factory foods and environmental health and began my exploration in holistic nutrition and whole foods. I have practiced years of vegetarian, vegan, and raw foods diets and nutrition and come full spectrum to integrate all my experiences into a love of high-quality, nourishing, high-raw, whole foods including humane animal products. My training in whole foods cooking and herbalism have given me a strong foundation of holistic whole food nutrition. I enjoy food prepared with lots of love, lots of living enzymes and probiotics, and lots of local traditional ingredients.

My studies in herbalism taught me to love wild and local herbs and to make my own medicine. I have been a passionate student of natural healing, midwifery, and traditional medicine. My studies and work experience in whole foods have included herbal liquid alchemist at a tea house, whole foods kitchen manager at a cafe, year-long herbal apprenticeship, conferences and workshops with leading health practitioners, experience preparing whole foods meals for postpartum families, and a life-long passion for natural health. 

I love wild foods, raw foods, herbs, superfoods, cooking alchemy, soaking and sprouting, fermenting, dehydrating, and enjoying nourishing foods. My passion is for farmer's markets, local foods, living foods, pastured eggs, raw dairy, wild seafood, and grass-fed or wild meat. My goal is for everyone to have access to pure water, local foods, organic foods, pastured animal products, wild foods, and raw dairy. When we all have the luxury of the healthiest foods available we will be a wealthy healthy planet.

My inspiration comes from indigenous nutrition, traditional foods, herbalism, the living foods movement, and honoring the sacred web of life.
