The Wing
Make entrancing music anywhere with the most affordable and portable Freenotes instrument: the Wing!The Wing employs a five-tone pentatonic scale, so all notes are in harmony. There are no wrong notes! No difficult techniques are required to produce their lovely tones — just tap on the middle of the bar — players and listeners alike will be soothed and delighted by their pure tones.
The Wing is available in the four pentatonic scales of G Major, D Minor, C Major and A Minor. All notes within each set are in complete harmony. A tap on the bar produces pure tones of consistent quality that sustain for over six seconds creating layers of soothing sound.
The Wing has been designed to be played in many different ways… place the Wing on a flat surface and you can play using one or two mallets… or hold the Wing in one hand while playing with the other. The Wing can even be hung and played on a wall, showcasing its visual beauty as well as its harmonic sounds.
As with all Freenotes instruments, there are no wrong notes, so you can be as free as you wish. All combinations of the tones will be pleasing. Play them and hear for yourself.

Instructions:There are two ways to sound your tuning forks. The first way is to gently hold them by the stems and firmly tap the end of the tuning fork on your knees. This will create a pure tone and is excellent for deep listening. Bring the two-prong part of the forks about an inch away from each ear and listen to the quality of tone. Remember that your tuning forks are musical instruments.
The second way is to hold the tuning forks by the stems and tap them together two times to create an audible sound with overtones. This sound is good for moving around the body in the energy field. You can adjust the volume by the strength of your tap. Experiment with getting different sounds. When you move the tuning forks quickly they will create a beautiful ringing overtone.

Your alchemy bowls have been designed to play in your hand due to their lightweight design. Your bowl will hold its own tone with a few turns of the mallet.
Bowl Techniques
1. Hold the bowl in the palm of your hand balancing the bowl. (It will work on base O ring as well.) Try not to touch the sides with your fingers as they will absorb the bowl's vibrations. Hold the bowl in a state of grace with your intention. Every hand movement in handling your bowl should be held with this state of presence. Once your bowl is playing, you can move it around the body to affect different energy points, chakras, etc. Lightly chime the bowl by bringing it to the mallet. Make contact at the middle of the bowl. To release blocked energy, start at the base chakras and move up through the different energy centers until the blockage is felt. Chime the bowl to help create energy movement and release blockage in this area.
Mallet techniques
The premium suede intention mallet has many uses.
1. Standard Hand Position. Hold the mallet in the middle just like a pen, just like you're writing. Place the mallet on the edge of the bowl at a very slight angle and begin to go around slowly holding pressure against the edge. The tone will build quickly with a few times around the bowl. Release and let the sound project for a few minutes, then start again.
2. Violin bow method. Hold the mallet against the bowl surface with four fingers underneath and the thumb on top. Start playing by going back and forth against the surface of the bowl until the tone arrives. You can change the tone by dragging these hand motions out longer or shorter to create a softer to more intense sound.
3. Two-tone technique Start playing your bowl with either above method. After your bowl is going with a sustained tone, tap the bowl lightly at mid-point of the bowl for the two-tone effect. Never overplay or gong too hard; keep the energy in balance. When chiming/tapping the bowl, make contact softly in the middle to lower area of the bowl. Do not make contact at the top of the bowl. As the layers peel away in your session, you will experience a newly shifted day. Enjoy your Crystal Tones Crystal Singing Bowls!

A velvet bowl pillow is also included with the 7 inch round bottom Collector Series bowls only. You do not have to buy the mallet and O-ring separately when you buy a bowl.
